Colorado State University Extension defines food security as access by all people at all times for an active and healthy life style.

Food Bank of the Rockies is working to make food security a reality in Denver, Northern Colorado, and Wyoming.

Food Bank of the Rockies' mission is to end hunger by procuring and distributing food and essentials to people in need through partner agencies in Northern Colorado and Wyoming.

Food Bank of the Rockies (FBR) was founded in 1978 and was known as the Colorado Food Clearing House. Operating from a 900-square-foot schoolroom in northwest Denver, the fledgling organization collected food from nearby Safeway stores and distributed it to one agency.

Today, FBR has extended its reach across Northern Colorado and Wyoming, providing food supplies to more than 1000 hunger-relief programs. In the area served by FBR nearly 400,000 people live in poverty and struggle to meet their basic food needs; almost half of them (47%) are children.

$1 = 4 meals, and $0.96 cents of every dollar donated goes toward food.

You can make a difference in the lives of our neighbors who struggle to put food on the table.
